Experiences, on the other hand, become more valuable to us as time goes on. 301 does not wear off but increases as experience is central to our identity. I have recently returned from diving in the Red Sea. The boat we were living on was an unmitigated disaster, from fires in the engine room to diesel fumes being pumped into the cabin.

I m calling it quits for the night and see if I can get some shut eye. Tomorrow is another day and maybe I will get to follow up on my research after I fix the back screen door. What is the chance that will happen? Probably pretty low right now. Oh well .. at least I am trying. I was sitting at my desk, getting ready to tackle the day’s work, when all of a sudden my wife yelled at me to ask if I had researched 301. I replied that I had just started and would research it right away. She seemed pleased with my response and we went on about our day.

It used to perplex me when I read about people who liked what they did so much that there was nothing they’d rather do. There didn’t seem to be any sort of work I liked that much. If I had a choice of (a) spending the next hour working on 301 or (b) be teleported to Rome and spend the next hour wandering about, was there any sort of work I’d prefer? Honestly, no.
